Japala - "Insect" that operates on the sun's energy.

The idea with these Beam circuits is that they are powered by the sun.

"Insect" that operates on the sun's energy.

The idea with these Beam circuits is that they are powered by the sun. Solar panels gather the sun's rays, convert them to electricity. This electricity is then stored to those black capacitors. When there is enough stored energy, the small motor will start to rotate. In this creation the motor will drive the "insect" along a wire, ruler etc. When the energy storage is depleted, the whole cycle starts again... store -> run -> store -> run...

22.06.2006 07:43 JapalaSolar powered flight could be interesting but I don't think that it would be possible with such a small scale... Perhaps one could make it jump in the air and then hover back down.
22.06.2006 05:38 ImAst4ri think it's pretty damn unique but it would be awesome if you could somehow get it to fly. Still great idea and it was a great look to it. ^^
